Today on the 15th of August search engine giant Google has adorned its India homepage with a tri-coloured ribbon spelling out its logo to mark the country’s 67th Independence Day. On this day in 1947, India broke the yoke of British colonialism and obtained her freedom after a long and arduous struggle.
Last night in the early morning hours I with some junior sang Indian National Anthem with high spirit of patriotism to celebrate Indian Independence Day. It is great to be Indian even though the economy sucks, where educated jobless individual sky rocket the population of over 1.27 billion people, poverty, illiteracy, high fertility rate, rapid decline in death rates or mortality rates and immigration, poor education system, corruption the list continues… Continue reading →
“Am I sleeping? Have I slept at all? This is insomnia.”- Chuck Palahniuk
(Lying in bed awake)
Me: (to myself) I really need to sleep, I have to attend the morning dermatology class. I need to do all the classes tomorrow. I don’t believe it’s already 3:14am. I am only going to get 4 hours of sleep…
Humans.. We are DNA-based living organism. You may not regard yourself to be a machine, but one way or the other human is a machine. Some may argue that we are just made of flesh and bones. How could we be possibly a machine? Yes, that is also true we are flesh and bones, but being a machine does it imply to be made from iron, steel and kilometers of wiring? I don’t quite think you think that way too. So, we are machine: a DNA-based computer! I know that sounds crazy, but with a thought processing unit, a machine who can feel pain, sorrow and joy compared to the other machine we know yes we are machine. I am not making that up this is it the real deal. It depends on you whether or not you gulp it! Sometimes we need to change the way we think things.
“So close no matter how far Couldn’t be much more from the heart”- Metallica (Nothing Else Matters)
It’s been a year since I last saw her and I am wondering whether or not she will ever miss me. I know for sure she will never do all the while when I really miss her. She must have changed a lot, all I could think of is the good times we shared together the dumb little things. Every time I am alone I started thinking about her I sometimes feel really sad and lonely, like there’s no one who loves me. The only thing I want to do right now is to see her. Even though I know I am not going to see her for another 2-3 years, but these memories will be true, real again. Yeah I miss HOME! Continue reading →
Save earth it is the only planet with Zarda Paan- Author
This may not be an easy thing to write. I have been keeping this successful secret in the dark for so long, trying my best to hide it away from people and friends. Despite some close friends and family knew what I am into, but most of them don’t. This might not be a great deal to you, but this is the demon I am fighting, something I can’t beat!!
All through my usage, I told myself, “I can handle it.” Even if this was true in the beginning, it is not so now. The tobacco handled me. I lived to use and used to live. Very simply, an addict is a person whose life is controlled by drugs. All of us have preconceived ideas about what an addict is. There is nothing shameful about being an addict. Continue reading →
If I have a den full of big fat dogs for food I will consider myself a millionaire- Author
One of the first questions your friends back home will ask you after you stayed away from home (Vai-Ram) is how many dogs (street dog) you have killed. I have been staying in Jorhat from 2010 and August of this year will complete my three years stay and I have killed none. This killing dog thing is some way to prove to your friends (not necessarily to elders, parents or sisters) back home that you are really outside the state and it’s embarrassing to tell them you have not. I used to think this as same as some kind of African tribal rituals to prove a boy is a man or a gang initiation to let them know that you are part of them. So I made a mental note that the next time I have the chance I will not miss it! Continue reading →
